NEEL at InnoTrans 2026 – Thank You for Visiting Us

From 22 to 25 September 2026, Berlin once again became a meeting place for representatives of the global rail and transport sector. During the 15th edition of InnoTrans, NEEL presented its solutions and met with industry representatives from around the world.

This year, the focus of our presence at the exhibition was on a solution that has been one of NEEL’s key areas of activity for more than 20 years – the UOZ-1 Animal Protection System.

Train–animal collisions are a real challenge for modern rail transport. Their consequences affect not only animals, but also railway safety, passengers, rolling stock and infrastructure, as well as the continuity of rail operations. This is why, for many years, we have been developing technology aimed at reducing the risk of such incidents by actively discouraging animals from entering areas close to the track.

UOZ-1 is the result of many years of NEEL’s research and development work, carried out in cooperation with the scientific community. The system was developed in response to a specific challenge at the intersection of railway transport and nature conservation: how to effectively reduce the presence of animals in the track area without creating physical barriers to their natural movement.

Today, UOZ-1 is in use on railway lines in Poland, and the solution has also attracted interest and been deployed outside Poland. For NEEL, it is particularly important that the development of the system did not end with the creation of the technology itself. Many years of operational experience and experience gained from successive installations enable us to continuously improve the solution in response to the real needs of railway infrastructure.

InnoTrans gave us an opportunity not only to present UOZ-1, but above all to discuss how the issue of train–animal collisions is perceived and addressed in different countries. We met with representatives of infrastructure managers, railway operators, technology companies, research institutions and other organisations involved in the rail sector. Many of these discussions focused on the potential application of our experience and technology in new markets.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who visited our stand. Thank you for your interest in UOZ-1, your questions, the exchange of experience and all the discussions about railway safety and wildlife protection.

We believe that effective wildlife protection alongside railway tracks and railway safety do not have to be competing objectives. For more than two decades, we have been working on a solution that brings these two areas together.

Thank you for meeting us in Berlin. We hope that some of the discussions we started there will lead to further projects and joint initiatives for safer railways.

We look forward to seeing you at future industry events!
