New technologies in Jurata

On May 8-10, 2012 in Jurata there was held VI Scientific-Technical Conference “Modern technologies in the implementation of investment projects in railway transport”.

On 8-10 May 2012 in Jurata there was held VI Scientific-Technical Conference “Modern technologies in the implementation of investment projects in railway transport”.

The conference was organized by the companies NEEL Ltd. and AREX Ltd. The partners were BOMBARDIER (ZWUS), RADMOR, KZA Katowice, Pionet, Elester-PKP, Delta-Zieńć, ZUE and CISCO. It was under the patronage of: PKP Polish Railway Lines, Railway Institute, Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy and the Office of Rail Transport.

The conference began with a ceremonial greeting by Mr. Marek Stolarski, president of NEEL, and Krzysztof Bielawski from the AREX company. Afterwards there were speeches by representatives of WB Electronics, PKP PLK SA, the Office of Rail Transport, Railway Institute and the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy.

A total of 20 lectures were given in four sessions: one general and three thematic ones. It addressed issues such as differences in legislation concerning the investment, anti-noise protection and animal protection, regional railway lines controlling, or experience with the implementation of the ERTMS / ETCS Level II. The important issue of railway safety also was mentioned. Several times there was raised the matter of recent disaster in Szczekociny.

There were also presented several new devices such as: traffic control devices, weather automation devices, lighting drivers and switchgear and modern industrial tablets.

Despite the beautiful weather and the attractive neighbourhood of sea beach the attendance was high at all sessions. Participants were of the opinion that such conferences will enable in a much greater extent to implement new technologies to improve safety, to ensure improvement of the environment, as well as to help in the work of the services responsible for the operation of the railway infrastructure.
