Jurata 2014. Jubilee and a rocket surprise
On 6-8 May in Jurata on the Hel Peninsula there was held the scientific and technical conference organized by the companies AREX and NEEL “Modern technologies in the implementation of investment projects in rail transport”.
The event was under the auspices of PKP Polish Railway Lines, the Railway Institute and the Office of Rail Transportation.
The partners of the conference were: Plastwil Sp. z o.o., Zakłady Automatyki Kombud S.A., KZA Katowice S.A., DEHN Polska Sp. z o.o., ASTE Sp. z o.o., WAGO ELWAG, Schreder Polska Sp. z o.o., Termorad s.c., Radmor S.A., Delta Zieńć, Elester PKP Sp. z o.o., Grupa ZUE, Elektrobudowa, Pixel and Pliszka.
Media sponsorship included the magazine “Railway Courier”, “Railway Transport Technology” and “Transport Infrastructure”.
Conference lecturers presented – among others – issues related to security: protection against lightning and overvoltage, fire protection, animal-trains collisions. Also there were raised issues like remote monitoring of electric power equipment, technology for carriage heating at parking stations, weather machines, maintenance of oil-immersed transformers and many others.
The conference program included an interesting presentation of a portable anti-aircraft missile set simulator. In addition, during the conference took place a wonderful concert of the youth symphony orchestra “Kamerton” from Grażyna Bacewicz Music School in Koszalin under the direction of Mrs. Małgorzata Kobierska and a performance by Mrs. Lucyna Górska (soprano) who sang songs from the repertoire of Edith Piaf.
This year's conference in Jurata was linked with the 25th anniversary of one of the co-organizers, AREX Ltd. Representatives of the company from Gdynia – Krzysztof Bielawski and Thomas Buda – officially received the recommendation of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers.
