UOZ-1 at the Kazimierz Pułaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom

On 23 May 2014 was held an official transfer of a laboratory-didactic version of Animal Protection System UOZ-1, specially prepared by the manufacturer – “NEEL” Ltd. – to the Kazimierz Pułaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom.

Animal Protection Devices UOZ-1 from ten years prevent animal-train collisions on selected sections of railway lines in Poland, and recently also abroad. The NEEL Company decided to donate an educational version of the system to Faculty of Transport and Electrical Engineering to enable students – and therefore potential future employees railway – to familiarize themselves with the operation of these devices. University of Technology and Humanities in Radom is known for its high level of education and the well-equipped laboratories – from now on richer by the device UOZ-1. It has been placed in the Laboratory SRK next to devices, with which it cooperates in real conditions on the railway line.

During the ceremony, the president of NEEL Marek Stolarski, gave a short lecture on the issue of animal-train collisions. He shared his experience of ten years operation of the equipment on the railway line and discussed the introduction of the system from the technical side. After the theoretical part the presented devices have been transferred to the University. 

The ceremony was attended, among others, by representatives of the manufacturer, the Rector of the University – prof. Eng. Zbigniew Lukasik, Dean of the Faculty of Transport and Electrical – prof. Eng. Elżbieta Szychta, prof. Eng. Janusz Dyduch from the Department of Control Systems in Transportation, the Department academic staff and media representatives.
